So after using cream for a while i decided to make the jump to vim. I decided to switch to PIDA (embedding gvim as editor) and it turned out a worthy replacement for Eclipse as an IDE for work stuff. Honestly i have little RAM and lots of pride to use Eclipse fulltime.
So getting vim to play well with python is not that easy, but after some trial and error I have a fairly well-functioning setup.
indentation seemed to be buggy until i used the alternative indentation script. I also use pydiction to generate the autocomplete entries for any python module and also python_fn for browsing through python code (and more importantly commenting/uncommenting).
On the visual side of things, I'm currently using the wombat colorscheme with the Monaco font from Mac OSX.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Note: This page isn't about running linux or linux-related tools on the DS. If you want to do that go here.
Note: I haven't blogged all through the summer vacation. which strikes me as bizzare... I changed the theme to one that hopefully won't break as often and i'm still figuring out how to get rid of spam...
I started the post in early july after I got back from there. It was supposed to have "Tales..". Of course, now I can't think of any tales. So I hope photos are enough :)

UPDATE: the game had been forked and made playable by mhlmi. Some of the rules had changed, also dev back-end (it now runs on ruby/Qt4).
A minimal bullet-dodging game. Too bad I currently can't finish it.
You control two sqaures(simultaneously, their movement is mirror image). There are only two movement keys. UP and DOWN. Red dodges bullets, while white absorbs them and converts the energy to make a bomb. you have 3 lives. read more »
